Behind the Scenes: Bringing Biophilic Design to Perkins Eastman

Inside Perkins Eastman: A Day of Design and Dialogue

We recently had the opportunity to visit the New York offices of Perkins Eastman as a vendor for their internal trade show, and it was an inspiring experience from start to finish. As a firm known for its human-centric, forward-thinking design, Perkins Eastman provided the perfect setting for us to discuss how biophilic elements can support wellness and enhance the built environment. The energy in the room was collaborative and curious, setting the tone for a thoughtful exchange of ideas.

  • Showcasing Our Green Wall Offerings

We brought with us a curated selection of preserved moss and artificial green wall samples, highlighting the diverse aesthetic and functional possibilities each material offers. The preserved moss, rich in texture and color, offered a tactile, organic feel, while our artificial panels demonstrated the beauty of greenery without the maintenance. It was important to us to show how adaptable our materials are, whether for a modern office, a hospitality project, or a branded experience.

  • Meaningful Conversations with Designers

Throughout the day, we had the chance to connect directly with designers and architects, many of whom were intrigued by the flexibility and customization available with both preserved and artificial installations. We answered questions about longevity, material sourcing, fire ratings, and our design process, while also hearing about their visions for future projects. These one-on-one conversations are always a favorite part of trade events, they’re where collaboration begins.

  • Why In-Person Matters

There’s something special about sharing our work in person, letting people see, touch, and imagine the potential of each piece. Presenting samples digitally is helpful, but the impact of preserved moss and greenery is best experienced live, where the texture and natural variation really come to life. Being in the Perkins Eastman space, surrounded by design-minded professionals, made the entire experience even more meaningful.

  • Looking Ahead

We’re grateful to the Perkins Eastman team for inviting us into their workplace and engaging with us so thoughtfully. Opportunities like these allow us to build real relationships within the design community and better understand the needs of architects and clients alike. We left feeling energized and excited for what’s to come, and we can’t wait to see how greenery continues to find its place in the spaces they create.
